As a parent I know, after a couple months of leisure time, it can be a challenge to get back into the rhythm of school days, transportation, homework and extracurricular activities. The sooner parents and children set that new routine, the better. For example, children who have gotten used to staying up late during the summer may need an earlier bedtime. It takes time to change the sleep cycle and get used to it.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row video_bg=”true” video_bg_url=””][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”highlight”]Here are few tips to help your children have achieve a successful school routine[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row video_bg=”true” video_bg_url=””][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”justify”]

Decide when to sleep and when to get up
It is necessary to prepare a schedule to decide what time your children need to go to bed if you know what time they have to get up in the morning. Children need between at least 9-10 hours of sleep each night to be at their best, while 8 hours is the absolute minimum. Ensuring that your children goes to bed at the appropriate time means they will get up on time as well.

Do not skip breakfast
Usually children tend to skip the first meal of the day-they are still tired in the morning and do not think much of taking the time to prepare a healthy breakfast. But those who go the quick and unhealthy route here, or skip breakfast all together cannot even think of studying in the morning.

Prepare light meals
Usually children tend to skip the first meal of the day-they are still tired in the morning and do not think much of taking the time to prepare a healthy breakfast. But those who go the quick and unhealthy route here, or skip breakfast all together cannot even think of studying in the morning.

After School routine
Depending on what time your children get home from school, they may or may not have much time to relax. Give them an hour to change clothes and get a healthy snack before sitting down to do homework. Even though an hour doesn’t seem like much time, it should be enough for them to transition between being at school to being at home where they have more freedom.

Homework
Do not allow them to watch television and use computer until all school work is completed. Even when there is free time after homework is done, you may still want to limit time with electronics. With modern technology, there’s no reason you can’t record things you want to watch and then do so at your convenience.

Encourage them to play outdoor games
Take them outdoors to play a sport after homework is done. This helps relieve stress, and allows them to return to their books with more energy.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row video_bg=”true” video_bg_url=”” css=”.vc_custom_1534144931491{margin-top: 20px !important;margin-bottom: 20px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”red-highlight , justify”]Having a routine is necessary. Routines assist us to know what to expect every day, they help us prepare for the next day and stay organized for the future. Children may get annoyed at the prospect of returning to school after the holidays but they’ll soon get back into the swing of things.
