How to Stay Motivated?
Motivation may be key to success, but that key isn’t easy to find. Do you feel motivated after achieving one thing; or do you wish for more for the next round of motivation? Do you know what ‘really’ motivates you and how to achieve it? We can help to an extent by outlining some points that can keep you motivated
- Make lists
Something about having everything you need to get done in the next day or two written down will make you want to sit down and do it all. We get overwhelmed by thinking we have such a huge workload, but once it’s all written down it doesn’t seem that bad. It is hugely motivating to know that the work won’t be as difficult as we initially thought. It is said that be sure about where you want to go; otherwise you might get there, yet not aware of it! - Tackle easy things first
This is so important! If you start with the most time consuming and difficult task, you’re going to drain out all of your energy, and then even the smaller things may not get done. Always go for the easy tasks first so that the accomplishments will motivate you for the harder ones to come. This way, you’ll also ensure that you won’t run out of time for everything else you have to do – because it will already be done. Small things can give you big happiness! - Get help from friends
Let your friends know when you have a lot of work to get done and what your deadlines are so they can remind you. Or, at the very least, they cannot invite you to things that are more fun than sitting around doing homework so you don’t feel the urge to skip it. The world lives on give and take; seek help and offer help in return. It helps both! - Self-validation is important
There is nothing wrong with being proud of a work well done. If you get all of your work done or even some of it, consider it a win. Don’t underestimate even the smallest victories like learning a chapter or completing a project. No one else can motivate you more than yourself. Celebrate successes and don’t regret too much of failures; they are just learning for future successes.
Fill your time with what’s necessary. It is very important to have the motivation to tackle your workload, otherwise, no matter what you do, you may just have the wrong workload. I hope these tips will keep you motivated. Now go get that to-do list done!
